Stuart Waterman, Senior Contracts Associate, began his publishing career when he joined one of the country’s oldest literary agencies as an assistant to two senior agents. In his nearly five years there, he gained increasing responsibilities in all aspects of author representation, and discovered an unexpected interest: the contractual side of publishing. He joined TMG to focus exclusively on review and negotiation of publishing agreements. He holds a BA in liberal arts, with concentrations in literature and psychology, from Sarah Lawrence College; a certificate in publishing from the Columbia Publishing Course; an MA in English from City College; an MFA in creative writing from the New School; and a paralegal certification from Hunter College. He is a JD candidate and recipient of the Distinguished Scholarship in the part-time weekend program at Seton Hall Law School.
