Ellen Levine has represented many award-winning authors whose books have become international best-sellers and have been made into major feature films such as Michael Ondaatje’s The English Patient, Daniel Woodrell’s Winter’s Bone, Russell Banks’ Affliction, and Louis Sachar’s Holes. Her clients have won Pulitzer prizes, National Book Awards, National Book Critics Circle Awards, P.E.N. Faulkner and Hemingway Prizes, The Booker Prize, Giller prizes, Governor General Awards, the Newbery and an Oprah Book Club 2.0 selection. Ellen founded the Ellen Levine Literary Agency in the eighties which she merged with Trident in 2002. Ellen treasures working with her brilliant authors of literary fiction and also loves to handle well-written popular commercial fiction. In addition, she represents a wide variety of non-fiction, with particular interest in memoir, narrative non-fiction, popular culture, history, politics, women’s issues, biography, science, essayistic work, and the odd quirky book. Ellen enjoys guiding her established and extraordinarily gifted authors’ careers, and at the same time loves discovering fresh talent and new voices. She is always looking forward to seeing what irresistible book projects the next day will bring.
