Following a stint with Borders Books and Music, Lara Lea Allen started her book publishing career in 1998 in the William Morrow Rights Department, assisting with translation, United Kingdom, audio, and reprint sales. With the acquisition of William Morrow by HarperCollins Publishers, Lara began concentrating solely on United Kingdom and translation sales, eventually negotiating foreign rights deals on New York Times bestsellers such as Michael Moore’s Stupid White Men, Meg Cabot’s Size 12 Is Not Fat, and Dan Coyle’s Lance Armstrong’s War, among many others. Lara is proud to have worked on Edward P. Jones’s The Known World, which won the Pulitzer Prize and the 2004 IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, as well as being short-listed for the National Book Award. |
